This is a piece made while at Oxbow School of Art in Saugatuck, MI. The imagery is all various methods and process of recording and digitally reproducing the body of a butterfly I found already dead upon my arrival. The audio is a mixture of home video recordings, archival recording from NASA's 1977 "golden record" sent out on the Voyager, and recordings taken while at Oxbow.

Questions: How does one describe what it is to live a life that one has never experienced? Can a human describe what it would be to fly?How do we begin to approach the boundary between being 'here' and being 'gone'? How might we communicate notions of love, grief, and hope across differences, across species, across planets?
